Feel Better....Naturally
One of the things that makes homeopathy such an incredible form of the healing arts, is that it works to stimulate the body to cure itself through its own inherent healing capabilities. Unlike herbs, vitamins and supplements, which are often confused with homeopathy, homeopathy addresses the root cause of disease rather than a specific symptom or malady. Those who are treated with homeopathy not only find relief from their chief complaint, but feel better on every level--physically, mentally, and spiritually. Sometimes people are relieved of conditions that they didn’t even realize were bothering them until they were gone.
Homeopathy as a “system of healing” has been practiced around the world for over 200 years, but it has its roots in ancient Greece--Hippocrates the father of modern medicine is quoted as saying “let similars cure similars” which is the basic principle of homeopathy. The law of similars says that a substance can cure a disease if it causes the same symptoms when given in a stronger dose to a healthy person.
Samuel Hahnemann, the person who first pulled the different healing principles of homeopathy together in the mid-1700’s, was a German physician who had given up practicing medicine because he found the therapies of his times to be ineffective and cruel as well as harmful to sick people. To learn more about the action of medicine, he took a dose of quinine, the medicine that was and is used to treat malaria. He developed the symptoms of malaria, and hypothesized that substances that cause symptoms, can cure those same symptoms. He then began to experiment with other substances, discovering the symptoms they caused in healthy people and using them to cure the same symptoms in sick people. Over his lifetime he was able to discover the medicinal qualities of over 100 substances, and today we have more than 2000 remedies in use with more being developed all the time. Homeopathic remedies are specially prepared substances from the plant, animal and mineral kingdoms.
