I was introduced to homeopathy in the way most people are-- a friend brought over some homeopathic pellets of arnica that someone had given her. We put them in the cabinet and didn’t think much of them. A few months later I hurt my back, remembered the arnica—the major homeopathic remedy for sprains, injuries, bruises, etc.—and took it. Much to my surprise the next day I felt better than I ever dreamed I would feel. My husband and I started reading up on homeopathy and treating acute illnesses and injuries.
A few years later our daughters were born, and we continued to use homeopathy for them with astonishing results—quick resolution to colds, croup, ear infections, stomach bugs, and several other minor, but troublesome illnesses that children get. Soon my neighbors and friends were calling about their ailments, and we collected books, kits and odd remedies. We even treated our dogs.
Ten years later I decided to go to homeopathy school, and in 1997 entered the Northwest Academy of Homeopathy (NAH). The training at NAH lasted 3½ years, and included a year of clinical training. In 2001, I started a private practice in Winona, MN, where I am currently practicing.
I am nationally certified in Classical Homeopathy, and a registered member of the North American Society of Homeopaths. I served for two years as a clinical supervisor at NAH, and continue my education by learning from teachers and teaching students case-taking and case analysis. I have also studied with several other master homeopaths including Louis Klein, Jeremy Sherr, and Rajan Sankaran.
My practice includes all types of people of varying ages, with all kinds of physical, emotional or mental complaints. I find that the types of disease that respond the best to homeopathy are often the diseases that are hardest for allopathic medicine to effectively treat. These ailments include: asthma, fibromyalgia, autoimmune diseases in general, arthritis, migraines and menstrual disorders. I love homeopathy because it is gentle, and acts deeply.
I believe that better health gives us the freedom to do what we want to, and allows us to make the most of our lives. This is the goal I strive for with my clients and in my own life.
